Blinded by the Light!
Blinded by the Light!
Have you ever thought that the song title may have come from a more spiritual part of history?
Saul of Tarsus was blinded by the Light! He heard the voice of Jesus asking why he, Saul, was persecuting Him, Jesus. Saul asks, "Who are you, Lord?" and Jesus tells him. At this point, many claim that Saul was converted. Not so!
How not? He was told to go into the city to find what he must do. Christ Jesus appeared to Saul and told him that He was the Lord. If he was saved, why was he blind? Why was he yet to find what he must do? "6 So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?”
Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”" (Acts 9)
Saul's sincerity and zeal in persecuting the early Church were greatly FEARED! Neither saved him.
How long will you persecute Christ Jesus? Or, will you instead ask, "What must I do?"
Consider this: later, with the Phillippian jailer (Acts. 16:25-34), Paul instructs him to arise, and be baptized. See the similarity?
